New Year’s Resolutions

One week into 2013. For those of you who make New Year’s Resolutions, how are you doing with them?

I used to make resolutions when I was a kid, because that’s what my friends did.

“Oh, yeah. I made my New Year’s Resolutions, too. I’m not going to get mad when my brother annoys me.”

I’m not sure that one ever made it a week. 😉

As we grow and age, our physical appearance changes. Hopefully, as we mature, our mental, emotional, and spiritual sides grow and change for the better, as well.

As an adult, I realize, for me, making New Year’s Resolutions really doesn’t mean much. I realize what I need to do, is be aware every day, of the things I do that need to be changed, and work on changing them. Regardless of what day the calendar says it is.

My daily resolutions?

Once again, I plan to work on growing in what the Bible calls, the Fruit of the Spirit, in Galatians 5:22-23. Love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Like Kirby in the picture below, some days I do better, than others. But as I grow in the grace and knowledge of God, I understand more, and more each day, that God loves us as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us that way.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Do you make yearly resolutions? If so, how are you doing with keeping them?

I wish you well,

Sandy
