Sunday Scripture — God is For Us

In face of all this, what is there left to say? If God is for us, who can be against us? He that did not hesitate to spare his own Son but gave him up for us all — can we not trust such a God to give us, with him, everything else that we can need? Romans 8:31-32 (Phillips Translation)

In elementary school, when teams were picked for kickball, it sure was a great feeling to know I was on Lisa’s team. The girl had a leg on her that belted that red rubber ball clear beyond the reach of any outfielder. Yep. I’d rather have her on my side, than have her on the other team. I may not have played up to par, at times, but I could always count on Lisa to win the game for us.

It’s sort of the same with having God on our side, or more importantly, being on God’s side. When we mess up, get injured, don’t play our best, God’s at home plate. He’s on our team. He wants us to succeed. He’s rooting for us to pull out the win.

God can knock our problems, worries, cares, clear out of the ballpark. He’s got a leg on him, far superior than anyone else could ever have. NOTHING can stand against him.

With odds like that, don’t you want to be on His team? I know I certainly do.

I wish you well.
