When Goliaths Get You Down

By Sandy Kirby Quandt

It seems a theme has been running through my life recently. A theme of stepping out in faith. Doing what God is calling me to do. Letting God dream his dream for me. Being willing to face my Goliaths.

I head the right direction, at least I believe it’s the right direction, only to find I’ve stopped making forward progress. I take a step or two backwards. I allow circumstances and situations to sidetrack and intimidate me. I allow my Goliaths to slow me down.

A friend I’ve discussed this with said I’m on the right track. If I wasn’t, there would be no opposition. That may be true, but it doesn’t help a whole lot.

How about you? Are there things you start doing that you are positive are good things God’s called you to do, yet circumstances knock you off track? What do you do to counter that?

Do you have dreams but are afraid to make them too big? How do you overcome that and allow yourself to dream big?

Are you able to keep the forward motion going once you determine the direction you should go? How do you work past the speed bumps of life?

Once again, I’m determining to put my trust in the One who conquered death to complete the good works he began in me.

Will you join me? Forward march!

I wish you well.
