Pause for Poetry — Through Faith’s Eyes

Welcome to Pause for Poetry featuring a poem written by my writer-friend, Shirley Specht Johnson.

Through Faith’s Eyes

by Shirley Specht Johnson

Through faith’s eyes
I see you standing
at an altar of prayer
Tears are gently flowing,
God’s mercy is very clear.
Nothing can impair the vision that I see
I embrace the promises given to me.
Through faith’s eyes
I see you holding
to the Savior’s hands.
I understand the purpose.
I understand the plan.
I embrace the promises
And the words He speaks to me.
When I look at you.
Know,
That it is through faith’s eyes I see.
