Welcome to Pause for Poetry featuring a poem written by my writer-friend, Frances Gregory Pasch.
God’s Perfect Peace
by Frances Gregory Pasch
On days when I feel shackled
Let me not forget I’m free…
That you took my sins and nailed them
To the cross at Calvary.
My old ways and bad habits
Were washed clean the day You died.
Forgive me when I cling to them
For that’s the sin of pride.
And when I try to run my life
Instead of trusting You,
Again forgive me, Jesus,
For that’s not the thing to do.
You said Your yoke is easy
And that Your burden’s light,
So there’s no valid reason
Why I should get uptight.
So help me, Lord, to rest in You,
May others always see
Your abiding perfect peace
Pouring out of me.

Glad you enjoyed my poem, Shirley. I have enjoyed reading some of yours on Sandy’s blog. It’s always nice to meet another poet. I hope that you have submitted your poems to different markets. I have been doing that for thirty years and realize that I have reached many more readers than I will ever reach with my book. I encourage you to do that.

Thanks, for commenting, Marsha. Since I’m no poet, I figured Shirley and Fran can fill that gap for us. 🙂
