On an RV adventure to Florida in September, Pilot and I had a campsite on the water three separate times. Lovely.
Sunrises right out our window glistening over the calm lake. God even gave us a rainbow over the water during one rain shower.
This constant presence of God made me think of a line from the 1984 science fiction romantic adventure comedy film, Buckaroo Banzai.
“Hey, hey, hey — don’t be mean. We don’t have to be mean. ‘Cause, remember: no matter where you go … there you are.”
If you’re still with me after that quote, let me explain …
God will never leave us. He is always with us. No matter where we go, he is there.
To paraphrase Dr. Buckaroo Banzai, “Hey, hey, hey — don’t be mean. We don’t have to be mean. ‘Cause, remember: no matter where we go … there God is.
Rainbows during rain? He is there.
Hope during pain? He is there.
Healing during suffering? He is there.
God is there in the sunrise.
He is there in the sunset.
He’s there in the storms and the sunshine.
Look around. No matter where we go, God is there.
In the movie the multi-talented Dr. Buckaroo Banzai, physicist, neurosurgeon, test pilot, and rock musician saved the world by defeating a band of inter-dimensional aliens called Red Lectroids from Planet 10.
If Buckaroo can do all that just think how much more the omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent God can do.
Wowzers.
Anyone else out there care to admit you watched Buckaroo Banzai? If so, do you have a favorite line from the movie?

Where could I go to escape from your Spirit or from your sight? If I were to climb up to the highest heavens, you would be there. If I were to dig down to the world of the dead you would also be there. Suppose I had wings like the dawning day and flew across the ocean. Even then your powerful arm would guide and protect me. Psalms 139:7-10 (CEV)
I wish you well.
