Sunday Scriptures — Praise Him Every Day

by Sandy Kirby Quandt

Two days ago on Friday the 13th another loved one passed from this life to Glory.

I find it strangely interesting that Mom Mom died one week and one year after Mom did.

Even stranger, I’d been thinking about Mom Mom and praying for her at the very time she was breathing her last few breathes on this earth. Without even knowing she was dying. As I’ve mentioned before, if God puts someone on your heart, pray. You don’t need to know all the circumstances. He knows. That’s enough.

The Bible tells us life is a vapor. We are here today and gone tomorrow. To steal a line from the band Kansas, all we are is dust in the wind.

None of us can add one single second to our lives beyond what God in his infinite wisdom has already ordained.

Some live to old age.

Some die within 48 hours of birth.

Some outlive life-expectancy predictions following horrific accidents.

Some die instantly and unexpectedly.

Some die in random acts of violence.

Some die at their own hand.

Whatever the circumstances, life is uncertain. Yet one thing remains constant. God is on his throne and in control. Because of that we can praise him every day for ever and ever.

Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Psalm 145:2 (NIV)

I wish you well.
