Welcome to Pause for Poetry featuring a poem written by my writer-friend, Frances Gregory Pasch.
Help Me To Remember
by Frances Gregory Pasch
Lord, don’t let me get discouraged
when others aren’t as excited about You as I am.
Help me to remember that it takes time
to get to know You personally
and to truly experience
Your overflowing peace and joy.
Help me to remember that the things
people have gone through
have often left such deep scars and intense grief
it’s hard for them to believe
that You can relieve their pain;
that You can give them something
that neither the world, nor anyone in it,
can give them.
Let me patiently pray
for those who don’t know You as I do,
trusting that in Your perfect timing,
You will open their eyes and their hearts,
as You did mine.
Then they will see You
in wonderful, unexpected ways
and experience Your peace
which passes all understanding.
