Step by Step Book Review

by Sandy Kirby Quandt

Step by Step, Candace Calvert’s second book in her Crisis Team series, releasing February 1, 2016, is a must read for people who enjoy fast-paced Christian romance filled with medical and personal drama.

Set in the world of ER room nurse, Taylor Cabot, and Crisis Team chaplain, Seth Donovan, Step by Step tells Taylor’s story as she approaches the three year anniversary of her husband’s death. Determined to let go of the past and move forward, Taylor discovers she must choose between two men. A cast of interesting characters, including Taylor’s unforgettable dog, Hooper, round out the book.

While romance books do not top my list of “must reads”, I found Step by Step a book I couldn’t put down. The medical details Candace includes are written with enough detail to set the scene to give the reader a true sense of what an ER nurse’s job entails, without being overwhelming for those of us who like to avoid hospitals. Multiple character’s stories run through Step by Step and keep the reader involved to the last page.

I plan on reading more of Candace Calvert’s books. Pick up a copy of Step by Step for yourself.
