Welcome to Pause for Poetry featuring a poem written by my writer-friend, Shirley Specht Johnson.
Welcome Home
by Shirley Specht Johnson
Don’t ask where he’s wandered.
Don’t ask him where he’s been.
Don’t question his appearance,
or the pain he has within.
Tell him Jesus loves him,
and that you love him too.
Understand he knows,
he knows what God can do.
Let your thoughts not wander
to places he may have roamed.
Open your arms of compassion,
And just say welcome home.
