Welcome to Pause for Poetry featuring a poem written by my writer-friend, Frances Gregory Pasch.
Help Me, Lord!
by Frances Gregory Pasch
Help me put things in perspective
Before I criticize.
Let me view the situation
From the other person’s eyes.
For words come forth so easily,
Sometimes I blurt them out.
I speak fast, without thinking,
What my words are all about.
Why is it I am quick to speak
And often fail to see,
The price my hasty words may have,
How harmful they can be?
Perhaps if I would think things through
Before I verbalize,
I soon would learn to overcome
My need to criticize.
