Sometimes I’ve wondered if I’d ever be enough.
Would I be enough of a wife, mother, friend?
Would I ever be enough of a writer to land an agent, publisher, book deal?
When I feel like I’ve given all I could possibly give and still come up short, what then?
The story is told of an encounter Jesus had with a woman who apparently felt she wasn’t enough. She looked to relationships for her enough and always came up depleted.
When Jesus spoke to the woman at the well in Samaria, he told her he could give her something that would be enough to meet all her needs. He could give her living water because he was the source that would never run dry.
Everything she could ever need could be fulfilled through a belief in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
She didn’t have to be enough. She had to have Jesus.
When we feel as if our enough isn’t enough, we need not fret. We weren’t designed to be enough on our own. We were designed for a God who is more than enough. A Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the well that will never run dry. A Savior who gives eternal life that is more than enough.
Have you ever felt as if you weren’t enough? Join me in letting Jesus be our enough.

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water I will give him will never be thirsty again. For my gift will become a spring in the man himself, welling up into eternal life.” John 4:13-14 (Phillips)
I wish you well.
