Sunday Scriptures – Celebrate Today

Isaiahby Sandy Kirby Quandt

What does it take for you to celebrate? A special occasion? A well-deserved award? A reunion? A hard-won accomplishment?

Some days life feels mediocre, ordinary, same ole same ole. Nothing special to get excited about and certainly nothing to celebrate.

We wait for special occasions before we celebrate as if just being alive isn’t enough cause to shout out, “Yay, God!”

Looking back on my childhood I believe I found more things to celebrate at that time than I probably do as an adult. Who knows why, but whatever the reason, celebrating didn’t have to be formal to be fun.

If we take the time to look around we can see all the many things we have to be thankful for and celebrate them.

Take a walk and make note of all the glories of creation. Look for rainbows after the rain. Name the constellations. Celebrate the refreshing breeze in the middle of a hot day.

Celebrate you.

Every day God gives us is reason enough to celebrate. It’s a choice we can make.

How will we celebrate tomorrow?

Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (CEV)

I wish you well.
