Can two very different people overcome their past hurts to find love again? That’s the question This Treacherous Journey by Misty M. Beller answers.
Filled with characters to care about and root for This Treacherous Journey tells the story of Emma and her twin, Joseph, as they flee false accusations in Texas, with the hopes of reaching their aunt in Canada before widowed Emma gives birth to her first child.
Not far into their journey they meet a secluded mountain man, Simeon, and persuade him to guide them through the Rockies to their destination.
Along their journey filled with peril and danger, Emma and Simeon discover the painful secrets of each other’s past, and develop a relationship built on trust and sacrifice.
The thread of God’s love and constant presence is woven through This Treacherous Journey from beginning to end; not tacked on at the end as an afterthought as is true with some books I’ve read.
If you enjoy historical romance set in the 1800s, This Treacherous Journey may just be the book for you.
Have you read this book? If so, what was your impression of it?
