Worship.
What does it take for you to burst out with a song in your heart, and praise the One who created you? Does the sun need to shine? The world need to be right? Or can you worship no matter what the circumstance?
Sometimes I look back through previous posts God led me to write, and re-read them because I need reminders of his truths. The following is one of those posts from my archives. If you read it two years ago when it first appeared, I hope you won’t mind the reminder we need to worship God no matter what our circumstances.
The LORD who created the heavens and the earth is worthy of our worship no matter how we feel. It shouldn’t matter if the sky is overcast, we feel yucky, our best friend won’t speak to us, or we’ve just burned dinner.
God deserves our praise for who he is and what he has done, not because of the circumstances of our life at the moment. He’s not the one who burned dinner, after all.
God is our joy and our strength, no matter what is going on. He is our refuge. The one we run to.
He alone is worthy. And we don’t need to wait for some spectacular event before we break out in our happy dance and get our worship on.
Have you ever noticed in those times when you feel anything but joyful or happy, if you turn your thoughts away from the problems that surround you and praise God, the darkness begins to lift, even if only a little bit? I’m thinking it might have something to do with the fact Satan cannot stand for us to worship God, and when we do, he sticks his fingers in his ears, and has to leave.
The more we worship God for who he is and what he has done for us, sing praise to his name, dig deep into the Bible and meditate on God’s truth, the closer we get to his presence and realize even if it is raining on our parade, God is the One leading that parade, and we’ll be fine.
How do you get your worship on?

Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! Psalm 95:6 (NLT)
I wish you well.

It helps to remind myself that we are to give thanks to God in all circumstances, 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Even when I don’t understand I put all my trust in Him.

Alyce, so true. We may not necessarily feel the situation is one of great thankfulness, but the fact God is with us in that situation is reason enough to give thanks in all circumstances, right?
