A friend died recently. Her sudden, unexpected death was a shock. As her daughter-in-law cried in my arms, she questioned why. Just as I had no answers in 1980 when I questioned why my father died unexpectedly, I had no answers that day for her.
But what I did have was this Truth; God remains in control.
Some may roll their eyes, and say that phrase is cliched, it’s overused, it doesn’t answer why, and I’d agree. Nevertheless, it is Truth.
In an interview singer, Jamie Grace, talks about her diagnosis of Tourette syndrome at 9 years old. Jamie spoke about the cruelty of others towards her. She mentioned thinking maybe God didn’t love her like he loved everyone else.
Ever been there?
Jamie also talked about the comfort she received from her parents and sister. They spoke God’s Truth to Jamie when she didn’t understand why. When Jamie told her mother she felt weird or dumb, her mother told Jamie God loves her, created her, has a plan for her, and a purpose for her life.
Near the end of Jamie’s interview she said everybody’s going to go through something big in their life but no matter what it is, God is always bigger, in control, and King.
Jamie added no matter how many things come into our life that we can’t control, we can always choose to go to Jesus knowing he’ll carry us through it.
God remains in control. He loves us. He has a plan for our lives. Words we hear often. Words that are Truth. Words we can choose to believe; or not. Which will we choose?

“God is always bigger” – – that’s one truth behind my love of powerful things like hurricanes, blizzards, fighter jets that shake the house flying by… They all remind me that when compared to my powerful God, they are nothing! The same is true of the storms of life. God remains in control of my days and years, no matter what circumstances come my way. ❤️
Thank you for sharing!
