Who doesn’t want them? Who doesn’t pray for them? Who hasn’t prayed for them and received either a no, or a wait? Who hasn’t missed those blessings that were disguised?

I’ve heard of an incidence where a couple was on the verge of signing for a new home, but had second thoughts, and backed out of the deal. Within a month, the husband was killed in an accident. The young widow was grateful she was not saddled with a home she could not afford on her own.

People who prayed for the release from suffering of an aged relative, were grateful for the prolonged life, which gave them the opportunity to restore a broken relationship before it was too late.

Prayers for a certain dream job went unfulfilled, only to be presented with an even better job later on.

Right now I am in a holding pattern. I know God’s timing is perfect. I know His ways are not my ways. His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. I understand that. I know God’s will for my life is perfect. No argument there. But because I’m on this side of the end result, I feel a little off kilter. Has God given me a definite no, or has He given me a wait? I don’t know. What I do know is God is not bound by time, and He has already gone before me and worked this issue out according to his perfect will and timing.

So I wait. And I pray. And I look for those blessings that may be disguised.

Are you in a place where God has given you a no, or a wait? Don’t despair. God has not forgotten you.

Even though the fig trees have no fruit and no grapes grow on the vines, even though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no grain, even though the sheep all die and the cattle stalls are empty, I will still be joyful and glad, because the Lord God is my savior. The Sovereign Lord gives me strength. He makes me sure-footed as a deer and keeps me safe on the mountains.
