To Follow Her Heart – Book Review

To Follow Her Heart

by Sandy Kirby Quandt

To Follow Her Heart, the third book in Rebecca DeMarino’s Southold Chronicles Series, tells the story of Patience Terry and Jeremy Horton.

As those who read historical romance know, the formula for these books is the heroine and hero end up together by the end of the book. Their journey is what makes the book interesting. So it is a given Patience and Jeremy will marry eventually. However, I found the number of times Jeremy returned to Patience, promised they would marry, only to have him turn around and be off the next day or two, return, leave, and repeat the process over and over and over … rather tedious.

Before I reached the middle of the book Jeremy left and returned so many times, I no longer cared whether they married or not. Perhaps if I read the previous two books I would care more about what happened to these characters.

Although To Follow Her Heart was not the book for me, that’s not to say you won’t enjoy it.

Have you read this book? If so, what was your impression of it?
