Our puppy, Baxter, seemed to be at his most ornery and disagreeable when he was tired. Come to think about it, so do I.
Being overly tired and stressed seems to bring out our worst, wouldn’t you agree?
For most of us by the end of our day we’ve depleted our energy reserves, at least that’s true for me. I’m drained and have nothing more to give. I need rest. I need new strength. I need God to fill me back up with his Spirit and his strength so I can press on for another day.
Some of us have health issues which zap us physically. Some of us have demanding jobs or families which zap us mentally. Some of us have trying situations that zap us spiritually. Some of us deal with issues that zap us in each of these areas.
We become tired physically, mentally, and spiritually because the road we’re on seems so long and unending.
We trudge through problems that test our resolve, yet we don’t give up hope because we know Jesus hears and listens when we cry out to him.
We place our hope in Christ alone.
Our Deliverer.
Our Redeemer.
The Lover of our soul.
Christ is the One whose mercies are new every morning. He is the One who restores our soul and gives us the strength for each day. Jesus is the One who refreshes us as only he can.
When you become weary and tired, what do you do to renew your strength for the road you’re on?

You were tired because your road was so long, yet you did not say, ‘There is no hope.’ You found new strength, so you did not become weak. Isaiah 57:10
I wish you well.
